Judith (Sebens) Stebbins of Long Lake, Minnesota, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 17, 2021, at the age of 78.
She was born to Peter and Aletta Sebens in Bellingham on May 2, 1942, and spent her childhood in Lynden and Sumas. Judy graduated from Lynden Christian High School in 1960. She graduated from Pine Rest School of Nursing with a degree in psychiatric nursing before attending LeTourneau University in Texas, where she met her husband, David.
Judy and David raised their daughters in Auburn, New York, until 1985 when David’s engineering company moved to Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Aletta, and her sister Phyllis.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, David; daughters Jill, Gay, Marianne and Cindy; siblings Shirley, Dave and Tim; sisters-in-law Ruth and Esther; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was a dedicated stay-at-home mom until all her girls left for college, then proceeded to serve as a nurse right up until she was 76 years old. Judy loved her husband, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her daily walks at Baker Park with David. She cherished her long talks on the phone with her sister and dear lifelong friends as well as fellowship, prayer and Bible study with treasured friends. Judy and Dave attended Park Harbor Church in St. Louis Park and enjoyed their Bible study groups.
Only three short months after her diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Judy went to be with the Lord. We know she is now in Heaven because of faith in Jesus Christ. Isaiah 41:10 meant a great deal to Judy.
Judy was laid to rest on Feb. 22 in Minnesota.
