Connie D. Martinson, loving wife and mother, went home to Jesus on Dec. 19, 2019, at age 72.
Connie was born Sep. 25, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Dan and Farrell Chitwood. They moved to Lynden when Connie was 5 years old. On Sept. 23, 1966, she married Bill Martinson of Deming. They had one daughter, Kim.
Connie loved God, her family and her church. She volunteered every chance she got and loved to help and serve. She was known for her welcoming spirit and cheerful smile.
Connie was preceded in death by her father Dan, mother Farrell, stepmother Henrietta and stepbrother Clarence VanderHeiden.
She is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Kim, step-brothers Marvin and Gary VanderHeiden and stepsister Eileen (Gordie) Harang.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Woodlawn Cemetery on Northwest Drive at Paradise Road. The memorial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, in North County Christ the King church of Lynden. Bill and Kim thank the church and community for their outpouring of love and support.
