Maxine Joyce Buford, daughter of the late George and Agnes Rexford, was born in Lynden on Oct. 29, 1930. She departed this life at her residence in Ellington, Missouri, on Oct. 21, 2019, at the age of 88.
On Nov. 17, 1947, in Lynden, Maxine was united in marriage to Thomas Pascal Buford and to this union nine children were born. Maxine attended the First Baptist Church years ago. She enjoyed puzzle books, knitting, working with plastic canvas, cooking and spending time with her dogs. Maxine’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Florence Erdman.
Maxine is survived by six sons, Thomas James Buford of Ferndale, Michael Vallery Buford of Springfield, Missouri, John Boyd Buford of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Robert Wayne Buford (wife Pam) of Ellington, Missouri, Ronald Rexford Buford (Joyce) of Ellington, and Anthony George Buford (Beth) of Ellington; three daughters, Sandra K. Baker of Ellington, Linda Lloyd (Randy) of Ellington, and Mary Knott (Tom) of Jackson, Missouri; one brother, Jack Rexford of Lynden; and 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
