Nathaniel “Thany” Lee Schelling of Lynden passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at the age of 34.
He was known for his hearty laugh, great sense of humor and standing up for what he believed. Thany liked sports and was always listening to sports radio. He enjoyed history and quoting history facts.
Thany was born Jan. 9, 1985, in Sioux City, Iowa, to parents Bryon and Ruth (Huizenga) Schelling. The family moved to the Lynden area when he was 3. He played football for Lynden Christian High School. After graduation Thany went to work for Whatcom Farmers Co-Op (CHS) and then DeYoung and Roosma Construction.
He was preceded in death by grandmothers Madelyne Huizenga and Betty Schelling.
Thany will be greatly missed by parents Bryon and Ruth Schelling; sister Cassandra Schelling; brother Blake Schelling; grandparents Arnie and his wife Bev Schelling and Otto and his wife Pris Huizenga; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, both here and in Iowa.
