Ramona Grace Dickinson, age 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and joined her hubby on his birthday, Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019. She was best known as the restaurant owner and main cook of Dickinson‘s Family Buffet restaurant in Bellingham from the early 1970s until retiring in the 1990s.
Ramona was born in Abbotsford, B.C., on Jan. 3, 1929, to parents James and Sarah (Irvine) Calvert. She met Eryl Dickinson while working at the local café in Abbotsford. Eryl and Ramona were married on Oct. 4, 1946, in Lynden and together had two sons and a daughter.
Ramona was a member of the Word of Life Church and active in the Lynden Assembly of God Church. She loved cooking meals for people and sewing some of her children’s clothes, and she was just an amazing professional homemaker. She had a servant’s heart. She was a prayer warrior, a devoted and faithful wife, and she loved to spoil her children and grandchildren.
Ramona is survived by sons Ted (Lori) Dickinson and Gary (Loretta) Dickinson; daughter Marcia (Brent) Crabtree; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her three sisters and five brothers and was the last living child of her family.
You are invited to honor Ramona and join family and friends for her memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, in North County Christ the King church, Lynden.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Christian Health Care Center of Lynden.
