We lost our Mom, Jacqueline L. Troglia, age 77, of Lynden on Dec. 28, 2018. Her pull to our father was too much and she went to join him. This fairy tale of theirs had the appropriate ending, leaving us all in shock and saddened to have lost both parents within a year. With that said, dying from a broken heart is very much real. For 60-plus years, these two people shared their life never being apart for more than a day or two. They are now joined again together to continue to celebrate and dance in the New Year as they have always done.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her loving husband, John; daughter Christina; parents Jack and Ruby Banfield; and grandchildren Craig and Tiffany.
She is survived by children Karen Gamble (Scott Decaigny), John Troglia (Kathy) and Susan Meader (Les); grandchildren Angela Jones (Clinton), Kayla Ovenell (Stan), Janel Byers (Matthew), John Troglia, Mitchell Holland and Tanner Holland (Ashley); great-grandchildren Selene, Ronan and Camille Ovenell, Morgan Anderson, Blake Jones, Amaya and Naomi Byers, and Braelyn Holland; brother Bill Banfield (Sandy); sisters Joan Merzlak (Joe) and Barbara Fink (Mike, deceased).
A celebration of life open house will held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, in The Chateaux at the Garden Green Retirement Community, 8780 Depot Rd., Lynden.
The Troglia family suggests memorial donations be made to the Whatcom Hospice House, 2800 Douglas Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225.
