Carolyn June Cartwright, 67, of Bremerton, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 20, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Carolyn June (Van Dellen) Cartwright was born April 10, 1951 in Chicago to Roger and Nell Van Dellen. She graduated Trinity Christian College in Illinois with a degree in education.
She was a beloved teacher of kindergarten and first grade at Lynden Christian School in Washington, at Timothy Christian in Illinois and at Hawk Jackson Park Elementary in Bremerton.
Carolyn married the love of her life, pastor Tim Cartwright, on June 26, 1975. They had three sons and one daughter.
She enjoyed sharing her day with her husband, loving, holding and reading to her grandchildren and playing games with them. She played word games with her sister and loved visiting with her sister.
She was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and especially loved teaching Vacation Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger.
Carolyn’s memory will live on with her loving husband of 43 years; her sons, Andrew (Kristin), Tim Jr. (Gina) and Peter (Ashlee); daughter Rachel (Royce); brother Rev. Al Van Dellen (Gwen); sister Joyce; and the joy of her life, her 10 grandchildren.
Services were held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2509 Perry Ave., Bremerton, on Friday, July 27. Memorial donations can be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. An online memorial can be seen at www.lewischapel.com.
